John V Willshire (@willsh) just posted this and you should take some time out to read it. He’s been banging on about this stuff for ages but now its all put together in one succinct and lovely deck.
I love the word deck.
97% of the top 250 internet retailers have a Facebook presence. More surprisingly though is that 61% of them have a Pinterest account and 67% are on Google+.
Research by e-commerce site Boticca have found that Pinterest users spend approx 2.1x more money with them than Facebook customers. Overall, Boticca has 40,000 Pinterest followers across 67 brand boards, compared to 26,000 Facebook fans, and more transactions now feature Pinterest (10%) in the purchase funnel than Facebook (7%).
Bad news for ‘frictionless sharing’.
